Lisa Wennerth is a mother, partner, teacher, friend, and explorer. She has a BA in English from Kenyon College and an MA in English Education from Colorado State University. She has been a teacher of English Language Arts for 15 years in the beautiful state of Colorado. Currently, she teaches AP Language and Composition, 9th grade English, AP Research, and Creative Writing. She also facilitates an online course for educators with the Colorado Education Association on connecting students to poetry through podcasts. Recently, she was awarded the Colorado Teaching Policy Fellowship, which seeks to empower teachers to advance change and shape education policy. Lisa believes in the power of sharing our professional experiences through the process of reflective writing. She is especially motivated by education practices that are focused on learning and progress. When she is not teaching, she spends as much time as possible reading, writing, running, biking, skiing, and hiking in the Colorado Rockies with her daughter, husband, and Great Pyrenees.
